Member of Parliament for Kurgram-3 (Ulpiur) constituency Barrister MahbubulAlamSalhi has donatedTk 1 lakh from his personal fund for the purpose of installing ultrasound equipment at UlipurUpazila Health Complex yesterday.
The hon’ble MP handed over the donation in the presence of doctors and related staff at the Upazila Health Complex premises.
Several patients said that if the ultrasound equipment is installed at Upazila, the general public, especially pregnant mothers and female patients will be benefited. They described this initiative as a wise and timely step in the health sector.
UlipurUpazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr.Harun Ur Rashid said that the existing ultrasound machine in the health complex has been closed for a long time due to mechanical failure. As a result, patients have to go outside for expensive tests. Therefore, new equipment will be purchased with the specified donation. It is hoped that ultrasonography will be able to be resumed by the middle of next week.
While handing over the donation,Barrister MahbubulAlamSalhi MP said that the people in Ulipurupazilawill now see the most visible improvement in government hospitals. We are working step by step to implement the promise given to the people. Full facilities for necessary tests including ultrasound will be ensured here very soon.
