Memorial meeting was held on the fifth death anniversary of Maulana Rustam Ali, the founding president of Sherpur Press Club and former principal of Sherpur Government Degree College under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.
The memorial meeting-prayer mahfil was held at the local bus stand of the upazila on Tuesday (December 21) afternoon at the Sherpur Press Club office.
Former president Nimai Ghosh, Abdul Mannan, Office Secretary Ayub Ali, Executive Member Abdul Hamid of the Press Club and Lecturer Abdul Mannan, Assistant Professor Ali Hasan spoke at the commemorative meeting presided over by the President Shafiqul Islam Shafiq in the function.
Besides, journalists Shahjamal Kamal, Utpal Malakar, Abdul Alim, Shaon, Wadut Md. Tofazzal Hossain, Ayub Ali Babu and many others were present in the meeting.
Doa mahfil was held at the end of the remembrance meeting. Maulana Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, son-in-law of the late conducted the Prayer Mahfil.
