“Training workshops for farmers organized at HSTU”

“Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU)’s Institute of Research and Training (IRT) organized a training workshop titled ‘Utilization of Technology in Agriculture Production’ for farmers.
The workshop was held on Thursday, May 2, at 9:00 am in the conference room of IRT. Professor Dr. M. Kamruzzaman, Vice-Chancellor of HSTU, attended as the chief guest.
Special guests included Dr. Bidhan Chandra Haldar, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and the program was chaired by Professor Dr. S. M. Harun-ur-Rashid, Director of IRT. Mr. Md. Shahjahan Mandal, Assistant Director of IRT, conducted the workshop.
During his speech, Professor Dr. M. Kamruzzaman emphasized the importance of agriculture in Bangladesh’s development, following the vision of the nation’s founding father, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He highlighted the government’s efforts, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to support farmers by providing technological assistance, including fertilizer and seed distribution.
Addressing the farmers present, he mentioned the adverse effects of excessive chemical fertilizer use on soil fertility and encouraged the adoption of biofertilizers for better yields. He expressed gratitude to the participants and IRT for organizing such an important workshop aimed at disseminating various technologies developed by universities.
It is noteworthy that 55 farmers received training in today’s workshop.”
