With the slogan “Transactions are going cashless, Bangladesh is moving forward,” a cashless banking campaign was held in Chapainawabganj, organized by Pubali Bank PLC. Through this program, general customers are being directly informed and made aware of digital payments, the versatile use of cards and the benefits of the ‘Bangla QR’ service.
On Thursday, a rally, inauguration of a digital campaign booth, and a discussion meeting were held at New Market in the district town to mark the occasion.
At 11:00 AM, a colorful procession was brought out from the New Market area. The procession paraded through important roads and ended at the same place. A discussion meeting was later held there.
The meeting was presided over by Md. Abdul Halim, Manager of Pubali Bank PLC, Chapainawabganj Branch. The chief guest was Md. Sajidur Rahman, Regional Head & Deputy General Manager of the bank’s Rajshahi region.
Special guests included Md. Anwar Hossain, Chairman of Anwar Auto Rice Mill and Abu Zafar Md. Rakibullah, Assistant General Manager & RRM of the Rajshahi Regional Office of Pubali Bank PLC. Other guests present were Alhaj Md. Saikat Ali Hira, President of the New Market Shop Owners Association, and General Secretary Alhaj Md. Dul Motin. The program was Anchoring by Md. Kamruzzaman Nipu, Officer & Regional in-charge, Regional office, Rajshahi.
In his speech, the chief guest Md. Sajidur Rahman said that the bank is always committed to ensuring technology-driven modern banking services. He emphasized that close coordination among banks, businesses, and customers is essential to build an effective cashless economy. This campaign is part of the bank’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, through which customers will not only receive banking services but also gain a clear understanding of a secure and transparent digital financial system, making their daily lives easier.
The main objective of the campaign is to reduce dependence on cash in daily transactions and financial activities. At the inaugurated booth, skilled bank officials are providing hands-on training to customers. Demonstrations include the use of Pubali Bank’s debit and credit cards, payment through POS machines, and mobile app-based transactions. In particular, customers are being clearly shown how to complete accurate payments instantly using the ‘Bangla QR’ code through smartphones.
