Uttering the slogan “Leveraging Innovation for Resilient Health System” a 2-day long 10th International Public Health Conference-2024 was ended at Momo Inn Convention Centre in Bogura on Saturday afternoon.
Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh and TMSS Medical College jointly arranged the conference for the first time outside the capital of Bangladesh to raise awareness among the root-level people of Bangladesh.
In the closing and award ceremony, Former Senior Secretary of Bangladesh Government Md. Asadul Islam, DG(Health) Md. Saifullahil Azam, President of Public Health Association, Geneva, Switzerland Prof. Bettina Borisch, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College Prof. Dr. Khandakar Md. Foysal Alam, Principal of SZMCH, Bogura Prof. Dr. Wadudul Haque Tarafder Nahid, Civil Surgeon of Bogura Dr. Muhammad Shafiul Azam, University Teacher of Japan Engr. Dr. Raafiqul Islam Maruf PhD, Chairperson of Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh, Dr. Aftab Uddin, Executive Director of TMSS, Bangladesh Prof. Dr. Hosne Ara Begum and Chief of Health sector and Deputy Executive Director of TMSS, Bogura, Rtn. Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, and others were simultaneously present.
At least 40 internationally renowned expert delegates and 516 professionals on public health sectors, students from home and abroad, other professionals and newsmen attended in the conference.
The 14 sub-thematic arenas of the conference are Health System Finnacing towards achieving Universal Health Coverage; Reproductive and Child Health; Emerging and Re-emerging diseases and antimicrobial diseases; non-communicable diseases; Mental Health and Well-being; Public health nutrition; Environmental Health and Climate Change; Urban Health; Oral Health; Health Science Ethics; Graceful Aging and Geriatric Healthcare; Digital Health and Innovation; Health Policy, Governance and Management; and Public Health Literacy.
Finally, an award giving ceremony was held and awards on different categories were handed over to the winners and former consultant of The World Bank and Managing Director of “Thoughts and Thoughts” Dr. Mohammad Taufikuzzaman was awarded as the Best Presenter of the conference.
Earlier, in the inauguration programme, Prof. Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Special Health Assistant of Interim Govt. of Bangladesh was present as Chief guest along with some world-known specialists on public health arena as special guests where Prof. Dr. Md. Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel chaired the conference.
