Women playing significant role to advance country: Speakers

Speakers in a function here unequivocally said women are playing significant role to advance the country towards desired goals through active participation in all development works of the society.

“ For participating in agri works, country’s crop production has increased more compared to previous years but the agri market is being controlled by the men resulting the women folk is being ignored in a word, they are not evaluated properly To help bring the women under the main stream of development, the women who are involved in agri-crops production, should be give opportunity to sell products to change their lots economically.

To make the women empowered, the obstacle and challenges which create barrier for the development of the women would be removed anyhow. To remove the obstacles, united efforts and coordinated initiative are crucial side by side with building social movement”, they also said.

They made the remarks while they were addressing a post rally discussion meeting on the premises of Char Fulchhari Govt. Primary School under Fulchhari Union of Fulchhariupazila in the district on Sunday noon.

SKS Foundation arranged the function as a part of the celebration of the international Rural Women Day-2024  under Community Based Resilience, Women’s Empowerment and Action Project funded by ManusherJonno Foundation.

Senior Teacher Ibrahim Islam presided over the function that was addressed among others by upazila livestock officer Zahirul Islam women affairs officer  Shafiqul Islam, sub inspector of Fulchhari Thana Rashidul Islam, child protection and safe guarding coordinator UmmeKulsum, project coordinator Lovely Khatun and joyeetaBithi Begum and Yaran  Begum.

The speakers in their speeches recognized the contribution of the women and their works to push forward the country and demanded recognition of women’s household work, women’s ownership of land, recognition of women as farmers, and adopting joint efforts of all to deal with climate impacts in the days to come.

A large number of community people and invited persons attended the programmes.
