International Anti-Corruption Day has been observed by holding various programs in Sherpur of Bogura district.Upazila Executive Officer Sanjida Sultana formally inaugurated the program organized around the day by hoisting the national and organizational flags at 10 am on Friday (December 09) with the slogan ‘A united world against corruption’.
A procession was taken out jointly by the upazila administration and anti-corruption committee of Sherpur upazila of Bogura district. The procession circumambulates local important roads and highway of the town on the occasion.
Later, an anti-corruption human chain program was held on the western side of the Dhaka-Bogura highway in front of the Upazila Parishad. After that a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad meeting hall room on the day.
Among others in the meeting, Mayor of Sherpur Municipality Jane Alam Khoka, President of Upazila Awami League Adv. Golam Farooq, Upazila Vice Chairman Shahjamal Siraji, Alhaj Munshi Saiful Bari Dablu,Editor of weekly Ajker Sherpur newspaper, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Sultan Mahmud, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Subir Kumar Pal, Upazila Anti Corruption Committee & Sherpur Press Club President Nimai Ghosh, General Secretary ATM Abdus Sattar, Nahid Al Malek, General Secretary of Model Press Club, Sharmin Akhter, Municipal Councilor spoke in the meeting among others
Journalist Ayub Ali, vice-president of Anti-Corruption Committee, moderated the program. People from various professions including government officials, employees, teachers, students, NGO representatives, businessmen, journalists participated in this program.
