53 years passed 14 Martyrs Yet to give homage in Bogura

The long 53 years have passed after liberation of Bangladesh, 14 Martyred Freedom Fighters of Bogura killed at Baburpukur area beside Bogura-Natore road under Shajahanpur upazila in the district are yet to give due homage.

The day was November 11, 1971 is called Baburpukur mass killing day. The place is situated beside Bogura-Natore road at Baburpukur area under Khorna union of Shajahanpur upazila in the district and 11km away from Bogura town.

Bibirpukur marks the sign of Pakistani occupation force and their collaborators’ cruelty and harshness against 14 Martyrs of War Heroes in the liberation war On November 11, 1971.

The blood flood had been flowing at the place on that day. The bullets of the occupation force and their collaborators pierced the chest of the 14 brave sons of the country.

They came to meet with their respective relatives of Thonthonia, Sutrapur, Hazipara areas of the town. The Pakistan forces took out them with the help of local peace committee members while they were taking Shehri during Ramadan at own houses.

The Martyred Freedom Fighters were Saiful Islam, Zalal Uddin, Abdul Kuddus, Abdul Kader, Bachu Mia, A. Mannan, Altaf Hossen, Sobur alliance Vola, Nurjahan, Mofazzal Haque, Abdul Hannan, Tuku Mia, Fazlar Rahman and an unidentified.

The above mentioned martyred Freedom Fighters are yet to homage after 53 years of liberation. They are also yet to be listed as Martyrs Freedom Fighters after a long time, alleged their relatives of the town.

In 1979 Bogura Press Club took an initiative to build the graves of the 14 Martyrs Freedom Fighters with Brick with the help of district parishad.

Out of the Martyred Freedom Fighters and the central leader of Chattra union Hannan Poshari’s relative  A.K.M Shimul alleged that nation does not give due homage to the brave  sons for their supreme sacrifice  in Liberation war.

Bogura district Former Muktijodda Commander Ruhul Amin Bablu said that the district command office has been giving them homage as Martyred Freedom Fighters through different programmes and to be listed as the Freedom Fighters they will take proper step near future by finding out all Boddhovumies in the district.
