Zia Latiful Islam has joined Gabtali Model Police Station in Bogra as Officer-in-Charge (OC). He joined the police station last Tuesday evening. He was working as Inspector (OC) in Kahalu police station in Bogra. Prior to that, he was the Inspector (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station.

Zia Latiful Islam joined the SI post directly in 1992. He was promoted as an inspector in 2006. He first joined Dhaka and later in late 2006 as Inspector (OC) of Sonatala Police Station in Bogra. Since then he has served in various capacities as an inspector.

OC Zia Latiful Islam was born in a Muslim family in Khalilpur village of Harirampur union in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur district. In private life he is the father of two daughters. Newly joined Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zia Latiful told local reporters that he would like to build Gabtali Model Police Station as a model. He said that he will try to keep law and order normal and eradicate all crimes including gambling and drugs with the cooperation of all.

It may be mentioned that the post of OC of Gabtali Model Police Station Md Nuruzzaman was transferred to Naogaon and the post of OC of the police station became vacant. Zia Latiful Islam joined the post on Tuesday evening.
