The entrepreneur couple Solaiman Hossain and Reguna Begum set up a Shoe factory in a remote area at Ulipurupazila in Kurigram district where a good number of youths are working and becoming self-reliant.

Local youths both male and female are working in the factory with carefully and production manager is monitoring properly. The leather madeshoes are being sold in Dhaka and other parts of the country.Earlier the entrepreneur Solaiman was served in shoe factory in Dhaka for seven years.

Later both husband and wife took decision and set up a shoe factory at remote village KamdevJanaterhat under Buraburi union of Ulipurupazila in Kurigram district in 2023 named “Best Shoes and Handicrafts”. The wife of SolaimanReguna Begum is the proprietor of the Shoe factory.

Raw materials are being brought from Dhaka and China.Around150-200 pair of shoes are made daily. Both male and female workers numbering 35 are working here. Each worker received Tk. 5000 as salary per month after trained up.

The production shoes are formal shoe, casual, loafer, half loafer, pumping, Ladies Sandal, High heel, Low heel sandal, Baby shoe,Baby Sandal, School Kids, skin stocking,bag,wallet etc.

While visiting on the spot and found that the shoe making activities was going on in a large room in second floor of his building on road side. Many youths both male and female are seen busy to make shoes by cutting,fitting and swing in both hands and machines. The shoes are selling in Dhaka and other parts of the country. In addition, they also sell in online daily.

Former chairman of Buraburi union Parishad under UlipurupazilaAftab Uddin told that the quality of those shoes are very nice and sustainable. Consequently, we are very happy as the factory has been established in are remote area.

The worker Mahfuzar Rahman,Sabina Yasmin and Sweaty told that we are very proud to serve in the factory in our village. We are maintaining our families with the wages. We would be compelled to go to Dhaka to work there in the same factory if the factory was not established here.

Production Manager of the Shoe factory Ershad Hossain told that a good number of workers are working here daily. About 200 pair of shoes are being made here daily maintaining good quality.The dream of the proprietor is going to be materialized.
