“Why are clean hands still important?” uttering the slogan, the World Hand Washing Day-2024 was observed through rally, hand washing display at deputy commissioner’s office premise in Bogura on Sunday morning.
District administration and Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), Bogura jointly arranged the programme with the aid of NGOs namely International Development Enterprises Bangladesh (iDE, Bangladesh), Bangladesh Extension Education Services (BEES) and Gono Unnayan Kendra (GUK).
Executive Engineer of DPHE, Bogura Md. Golam Kibria presided over the whole programme while Deputy Director (Local Government) of Bogura district administration Masum Ali Beg was present as the chief guest and ADC (General) Md. Meshbaul Karim was present as the special guest.
Other guests were Rezwan Ali from iDE of Bangladesh, Mozahar Ali from BEES and other invited persons and officials of the DPHE and NGOs. At least 100 students of Bogura Govt. Girls’ School and Bogura Zilla School were present in the hand washing programme and rally.
ADC (General) Md. Meshbaul Karim said that washing hands is a very vital matter to make a sound and healthy upcoming generation and the hand washing display and firsthand knowledge can play crucial role in making aware of the common and root-level people.
Among the fresh students, Arifa Aktar Shohana from Govt. Girls’ School and Arpon Roy from Bogura Zilla School expressed their rejoicing speech before the presence.
