Wife Lucky Akter tried to kill her sleeping husband by cutting his throat with a sharp knife (Locally called boty) as he did not allowed her wife to invest money in internet in Bilnothar village of Khamarkandi union under Sherpur upazila of Bogrua district.

At the sound his moaning, the family members came and rescued him seriously injured husband Tajmal Hossain (35).Fortunately he was saved because his trachea was intact, but he is still not safe due to excessive bleeding. He was later admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC) Hospital in Bogura.

It is learnt that a written complaint was lodged in Sherpur Police Station on Tuesday (December 15) at noon in this connection. According to the complaint, Lucky Akter got married to Tajmal Hossain, son of Habibur Rahman of Jhanjar Bilnothar village about 15 years ago.Their married life was going well. They have no children in the family. Husband Tajmal Hossain used to run the family by working in other people’s house.

Apart from household expenses, he also save some extra money. But his wife Lucky Akter secretly invested the money without informing her husband.

Thus, in a short time, he became the owner of lakhs of Taka. At one stage, the husband found out about the matter and forbade her to invest in interest. It  had created a dilemma between their husband and wife.  They even had an argument on Sunday night.

Due to this, his wife Lucky Akter tried to kill her husband Tajmal Hossain by cutting his throat. It is alleged that the family members later came and rescued him and admitted him to the hospital.

Tajmal Hossain, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital, they also said  that there was a quarrel between them over the accounting of his earned money and stopping him from spending money on interest.

Besides,nothing much happened.But with this little thing his wife tried to kill him in his sleep which she can’t even imagine.

However, the accused wife Lucky Akter claimed her innocence and said that she did not commit any incident like stabbing her sleeping husband in his neck. On that day,there was an argument between the husband and wife. At one point, she remarked that her husband’s throat might have been cut by a sharp object.

Sherpur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mostafiz told that he went to inspect the spot as soon as he got the news.The matter is under investigation. If the wife is found guilty in the investigation, the law must be applied against her
