Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangpur Mobasswer Hasan in a function urged the wholesalers and the retailers to supply rice following the rules issued by the government to make the price of rice stable.
“ The administration is monitoring the bazar seriously so that any dishonest traders could not increase the prices of the essentials including rice without any reason aimed at creating sufferings to the customers.
If any traders try to malpractice defying the rules, he or she would be brought under trial. In this context, the violators might be face fine or conviction”, he also said.
DC Mobasswer Hasan made the comments while he was briefing the wholesalers who supply rice to the local markets and the retailers who sell rice to the customers directly in a briefing meeting held at his conference room of the city on Wednesday in his chair.
District Controller of food Antara Mallik in her speeches sought whole hearted cooperation of the traders not to increase the price of rice without any reason and urged them not to create any kind of anarchy and anomalies with rice
A number of wholesalers and retailers spoke at the meeting and presented their business relating problems in front of DC and DC food.
In response, DC food assured them of solving the problems as early as possible.
Almost all wholesalers and retailers participated in the meeting.
