Vulture of rare variety recovered in Kurigram

The Forest Department recovered a large size rare variety of vulture from Amtola Bazar of frontier area Kuti Chandrakhana under Phulbari upazila in Kurigram which was attacked with paddy drying net.

The Vulture was recovered by local one Ahammad Ali and took away in his house in the evening on Monday and sent to Kurigram Forest Department as it became sick.

Phulbari Upazila Forest Officer Nabir Uddin said that it may be entered into Bangladesh from India crossing frontier.

Locals said such kind of vulture is not seen available causing a good number of people gathered there to see the vulture at a glance.

Officer of Forest Department in Kurigram Mominul Islam said the vulture is now under our safe place and its condition is well. The vulture will be released at Singra area under Dinajpur district to protect the ecological balance.
