Two people including a child, were killed as a boiler exploded while paddy put on the boiler machine, in the rice mill in Kashipur village of Faridpur upazila in Pabna on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam,37, owner of the mill and son of Abdur Razzar a residence of Kashipur village of Faridpur upazila and Tarek Hossain,5, child of Pakhi Khatun a female worker working in the mill and hailed from Gopal Nagar village of the same upazila.
Police and eyewitness reported that the broiler explosion occurred at around 10.30am while paddy put on the boiler at the rice mill of the Kashipur village, the owner of Chatal Jahangir Alam was dismembered and died on the spot and another child Tarek Hussain, was seriously injured when pieces of the boiler fell on him after the boiler exploded. The child was taken to Faridpur upazila health complex, where the doctor declared him dead.
Faridpur police station officer-in-Charge Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter and said that a police team was sent to the spot as soon as the incident was known. Senior police officers along with me visited the spot. The two bodies have been handed over to the families.
