Tk 50 thousand was fined over Illegal digging of ponds under Dupchanchia upazila in Bogura on Wednesday.

On the day , Executive Magistrate &  Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rupam Das conducted this mobile court and imposed a fine of Tk 50,000 on the charge of illegally digging a pond.

It is known that Milton Rahman, a soil trader of Talora Swargpur village in the upazila, has been selling soil by digging deep in the name of pond renovation.  Cultivated land in the area is under threat due to the digging of ponds on a large scale.

While transporting this soil by trucks, the environment along with the roads gets damaged.
