Three persons were arrested in connection with theft case in a gold shop in Bogura followed by the quick recovery of 17 vori of gold from their information from a gold shop of Cumilla town on Tuesday.
The arrested three were identified as Md. Rubel, 27, son of Md. Julhaz allies Jhoru of Kodom Tola of Muradnagar of Cumilla, Ibrahim allies Nayan Shaha, 30, son of Nanda Shaha of Deovog of Fotulla of Naranyangonj and Md. Shajalal, 46, son of Late Nurul Islam of Komlapur of Cumilla Dokkhin sadar of Cumilla district.
In a press briefing, Police Super of Bogura Addl. DIG of Bangladesh Police Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty bpm, ppm said that they conducted theft in Al-Toufique Juwellars on April 20 this year and theft aound 110 vori of gold ornaments and the victim shopkeeper lodged a case with sadar police station in that day accusing unidentified persons.
Later police giving emphasized on the theft case and conducted drives in several districts taking help of ICT and arrested Nayan from Chittagong on May 06 instant and on interrogation, he confessed the crime on the suggestion of main culprits Rubel from same town and later they gave the details of the buyer of the gold ornaments Shajalal of Cumilla and later police arrest him too on May 07 instant and recovered 17 vori of gold ornaments, added the SP.
Police quoting the arrested Nayan said that the gang of 12-13 thieves conducted the A to Z of the theft case selecting weekend and police have been conducting drives to recover the rest of the gold though they had already sold the ornaments and spent the selling money.
