Steps by Bogura District admin for vehicles’ smooth movement

The district and police administration of Bogura have taken some steps for the smooth movement of the vehicles in the highways of Bogura district.

For ensuring vehicles’ smooth movement in the highways, the high officials of Bogura district and police administration, the deputy chief engineer of Sussex project-02 for 4-lane road of Dhaka-rangpur highway and the executive engineer of road divisions of Bogura and other concern visited the highways under the district and expressed their satisfaction of the construction works.

Visiting different areas of the highways in the district and hoping the smooth movement of the vehicles in Dhaka-Rangpur highway via Bogura, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bogura Md. Saiful Islam said that the highways will be open for all and it would be a little-bit smooth and peaceful as the huge police forces and vigilant magistrate will be deployed in the areas.

Contrary, over 80 percent of the construction works under Sussex connecting road project-02 under Tangail-Rangpur four lane project has already been finished so far, informed Deputy Project Director Engineer Joy Prokash Chowdhury.

He added that still some constructional problems in some areas in the highway and keeping in mind the smooth movement of the vehicles ahead of Eid-ul Fitr, they have been working hard round the clock.

He also added that from Tangail to Rangpur, there are 39 overpasses and under passes in 129 kilomitres of the highways and among them, 16 overpasses and under passes have been already been opened in Bogura district.

The Project Director further added that the project works were initially hampered due to Corona Pandemic and from Alenga of Tangail to Rangpur area, Tk. 18,679 crore were sanctioned for the 4-lane highways and around Tk. 2,026 crore were sanctioned for the construction of the lane in Bogura district areas.

Addl. DIG Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty, Superintendent of Police of Bogura said that district police, highway police with the cooperation of district administration combinedly will conduct drives so that no hazard in the highway is created and they have identified 10 jam-prone spots and hopefully problems of the 3/4 spots will be solved soon.

Four sections of Chandaikona under Sherpur upazila to Mokamtola under Shibgonj upazila in Bogura have been controlled from control rooms and directions have already been served among the concerned and the sufferings of home-goers will be lessened, added the SP.
