A special yard meeting of 100 beneficiaries for the discussion on the role of the present government for women empowerment at Dottobari area under Sadar upazila in Bogura on Thursday afternoon.

The member of the parliament of Bogura sadar constituency and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, Bogura district unit Ragebul Ahsan Ripu while Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Bogura sadar upazila Feroza Parvin presided over the whole programme.

Special guests were identified as Upazila Female Vice-chairman Dalia Aktar, News Editor of The Daily Karatoa Prodip Bhattacharjaye Shanker, Kobiraj Torun Chakrabarty, Tottho Service Officer of sadar upazila Ferdousi Aktar and Tottho Assistant Nur-e- Shabiha Haque and others.

The chief guest said that the government has been working for the rights of the women equally so that they can earn money by staying at home and can educate their children and can improve their lives.

The other speakers said that the Tottho Apas of Tottho Kendro under Sadar upazila have been playing enormous role in reaching the initiatives of the government for preventing early marriage, giving knowledge of family planning, ensuring the practical knowledge on livestock, securing health of the disadvantaged people of the root level people of Bangladesh.

Tottho Service Officer of Sadar upazila Ferdousi Aktar said that they have arranged 77 yard meeting so far and provided knowledge on 43 service beneficiaries on health, education, agriculture, business, law and gender affairs.

The porgramme was opened with the video display on the development process of the present government.
