A peak up van dashed and killed one pedestrian at Kashupur under Fulbariupazila in Kurigram at around 10.00 am on Monday (March 27).

The deceased was identified as Kanu Chandra Sen 65 son of late Asutos Chandra Sen of village Dharmopur under Kashipur union of Fulbariupazila.

Eyewitnesses NelamborSen and Goutom Chandra Sen said a goods laded peak up Van was rushing in high speed towards Nageswariupazila from Fulbariupazila. When the van reached at Dharmopur the driver lost control over the steering and dashed Kanu Chandra Sen from behind.

The villagers however immediately took away him to Nageswariupazila health complex in a critical condition where the attending doctor declared him dead.

The peak up van driver along with his two associates escaped after the incident leaving the peak up.Being informed Fulbarithana police seized the van bearing number Dhaka metro-na-164510 and brought to thana.

Officer-in-charge of Fulbari police station Fazlur Rahman told that peak up van has been seized.Lawful action will be taken after getting complain against the driver from the deceased family,OC added.
