If the community police become active, the communal harmony will remain intact. Therefore, the district police are working round the clock to keep the community policing activities active. Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudip Kumar Chakraborty said this at a public meeting with the participation of public representatives, political leaders, scholars, representatives of different religions, media personnel, cultural activists, police officers-members, community policing leaders, students and teachers in Bogura on Saturday.
Around 50,000 people participated in the rally organized by the district police on Saturday afternoon in 141 bits of 12 police stations in the district. Among them, more than 5,000 people participated in the reconciliation rally held at Shaheed Khokon Park under Sadar Police Station.
SP Sudip Kumar Chakraborty thanked the people’s representatives at all levels, political leaders, social personalities, journalists and people of all walks of life for creating a social security zone for the Durga Puja in a friendly and festive atmosphere in Bogura.
Deputy Commissioner Md Ziaul Haque, who was the chief guest at the rally, said the police and the people have worked hard to set a unique example of communal harmony in a peaceful environment. He thanked the district police for organizing the harmony rally and called upon all to work together in the spirit of liberation war to maintain communal harmony.
