Police arrested a young man named Mirazul Islam (25) for raping a housewife allegedly on Wednesday(July13) night of Binodpur village of  Sugjat union under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.

The arrested Mirazul Islam is the son of Akalu of Binodpur village of the upazila.

According to  the case, Mirazul Islam of the same village had been giving bad proposals to a housewife of Binodpur village of Sughat union of the upazila for several  times.  On Sunday (July 10) evening, Mirazul Islam came to the housewife’s house and took her husband for a walk. Mirazul cunningly left the housewife’s husband outside and entered the housewife’s house around 1 :00 am  and raped her. When the housewife screamed, the rapist Mirajul ran away.

 In this incident, the housewife filed a rape case against Mirazul Islam at Sherpur police station on Wednesday night. In view of the case, the police conducted a raid that night and arrested the rapist from a road in Binodpur village.

Officer in charge(OC)Shahidul Islam of Sherpur police station said, ” The person arrested on the charge of rape has been sent to jail”.
