A symbolic hunger strike was held on the last day on Thursday of a three-day protest at the Pabna Press Club to protest the arrest of investigative journalist Rozina Islam in a harassment case and demand her immediate release.

Press Club President ABM Fazlur Rahman, Pabna Reporters Unity Secretary Kazi Mahbub Morshed Babla, Pabna Television Journalists Association President Raziur Rahman Rumi, Prothom Alo correspondent Sarwar Ullas and others spoke during a two-hour hunger strike in front of Pabna Press Club on Thursday.
Expressing solidarity with the hunger strike, people from all walks of life including journalists of all electronic, print, online and local newspapers working in Pabna participated.
Speakers said that criminals and corrupt people will not be able to cover up their misdeeds by harassing them through attacks, lawsuits, detentions and arrests.
Journalists will continue to write. Journalists talk about society, people. They brought up various irregularities, corruption and the possibility of problems. Journalists are caught red-handed as soon as they reveal the truth. They urged the government to take appropriate steps to stop it.
