After three years, operation theater has been run Sherpur Upazila Health Complex of Bogura district on Thursday at 10 o’clock of the town, the operation was officially launched through cesarean section of obstetrician Swarna Sharma, wife of Anand Sharma of Gosaipara.
Before this, Heroic Freedom Alhaj¦ Habibar Rahman, Member of National Parliament of Bogra-5 (Sherpur-Dhunot) Constituency officially inaugurated this program by cutting the red ribbon.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Rajshahi Divisional Director (Health) spoke as a special guest at the opening ceremony under the chairmanship of Sajid Hasan Siddiqui. Habibul Ahsan Talukder, Deputy Director of Health Department Hashibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Bogura Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Shafiul Azam, Sherpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sanjida Sultana, President of the Independence Physicians Parishad (Swachip) Bogura District Branch Dr. Samir Hossain Mishu, District Additional Superintendent of Police Sajib Shahreen, Sherpur Upazila Awami League General Secretary Sultan Mahmud, Sherpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman Khandkar spoke in the meeting.
MP Habibar Rahman, the chief guest at the event, said that the current government wants to provide health care to the people. The privileged daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman always thought of the welfare of people. Working to provide free medical services especially to poor people. In continuation of this, a state-of-the-art operation theater was launched at Sherpur Upazila Health Complex. So that thousands of maternity mothers and other critical patients of this region will get surgery facilities.
Sharma, husband of Swarna Sharma, who underwent the first operation in the operation theater of the Upazila Health Complex, said that the doctors decided to operate because my wife was not having children naturally due to some problem. I went to several private clinics for this. I was worried about the cost they mentioned. Because I am a day laborer.
It was a bit difficult for me to collect it. In the meantime, the neighbors advised me to take my wife to Sherpur Hospital. So a free caesarean was done just one day after being brought here. No money was spent. Both mother and baby are fine. However, he also commented that if the operation was not started in the upazila health complex, the operation would have to be done in a private clinic or hospital.
