One youth was drowned and missing while he went to the Brahmaputra River to catch fish at Chilmariupazila in Kurigram district at noon on Friday (April 07).

The missing youth was identified as GahurBadsha 20 son of Kalam Miah of Baribath area under Raniganj union of the upazila.

Local sources said GahurBadsha and his associate went to the Brahmaputra River with net to catch fish. When he was catching fish and at one stage he was drowned with net and was not traced yet.

Fire Fighters from Rangpur and a local unit of Fire Fighters are being tried to recover the body but they not traced the body till now, officer on duty Azizul Islam said.

He also told that the matter was informed us after several hours. A total of eight Fire Fighters are conducting the recover activities till filling the report.
