Kachakatathana police under Nageswariupazila in Kurigram district arrested one for cultivating hemp and sent to jail on Thursday.

Officer-charge of KachakatathanaGolamMortuza ensured the incident in the morning on Thursday (February 23).

The arrested is Rubel Miah 38 son of Delwar Hossain of village Jalirchar under Kachakatathana in the upazila.

Earlier police arrested him from his house with hemp tree at night on Wednesday. Police filed a case with Kachakatathana under the act of narcotics control whose number 09.

Police said Rubel has been cultivating hemp for long. Acting in tip off police raided in his house and recovered a hemp tree weighing 8 kg 300 gram.

The arrested Rubel was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate court and the learned justice ordered to send him jail custody.
