Nutrition Fair and Cooking Competition was held on the ground of Napiterhat Govt. Primary School under FulchhariUpazila in the district on Monday.

with the financial support of European Union Sustained Opportunity for Nutrition Governance (SONGO) project which is being implemented in Gaibandha and Kurigram districts by RDRS Bangladesh and Cordaid Netherlands arranged the fair and competition.

The objective of the fair and the competition was to create awareness among the people about nutrition.

To make the people accustomed to feed nutrition foods which are available in the society is another objective of the fair.

A concluding ceremony was also held on the school ground in the afternoon. Fulchhari UNO Mohammad Alauddin addressed the function as the chief guest.

Presided over by local Union Parishad Chairman Al-Amin Ahmed, the function was also addressed among others by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Rafikuzzaman, Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Mintu Miah, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Rakibul Islam, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Papia Sultana, Project Coordinator AshrafulAlam, Nutrition Governance Advisor MoniruzzamanMukul, Wash Advisor MotakabbirulHaque, Upazila Coordinator Syed Mahbubur Rahman Hirak, Technical Officer Arfina Akhtar and Union Facilitator Mominul Islam.

The speakers in their speeches underscored the need for consuming the nutrition foods which are available in the society to mitigate malnutrition.

UNO Mohammad Alauddin in his speeches urged the people to consume local nutrition foods to meet the demand of nutrition and thanked the officials of SONGO Project for arranging such the fair aimed at creating much awareness about nutrition and nutritious foods.

Later, the crests as gifts. were given the best stall owners in the function.

Earlier, the UNO visited the 16 stalls set up in the fair and talked to the owners of the stalls.
