Current MP Md. Abdul Wadud, the candidate of the boat symbol nominated by Awami League in the twelfth parliamentary election of Chapainawabganj-3 constituency, has been showered with floral greetings from thousands of leaders, activists and supporters.
When MP Abdul Wadud reached Dwariapur on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi road on Monday (November 27) afternoon while returning from Dhaka with the party nomination, the activists welcomed him with garlands of flowers.
Earlier, on his way back, he offered wreaths and prayed at the tomb of martyr AHM Kamaruzzaman (Hena), one of the four national leaders, in Rajshahi.
Later, Bangabandhu met in front of the Muktamanch by taking a motorcycle procession on various roads of the district city. There, he along with the leaders and activists laid wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Later, General Secretary of District Awami League Abdul Wadud MP addressed the short rally to express gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and asked for votes for the boat symbol.
It should be noted that the party candidate for the upcoming elections was finalized at the party’s Parliamentary Nomination Board meeting chaired by Awami League President Sheikh Hasina from November 23 to November 25. According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission, the 12th National Assembly elections will be held on January 7. The last date for submitting nomination papers to the Election Commission of the candidates participating in this election is November 30.
