At least three people, including two women and a child of a Hindu family, were seriously injured when miscreants threw acid under at Telihata Karmakarpara village of Sukhanpukur union under Gabtali upazila in Bogura on early Saturday. Now they have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina Burn Hospital in Dhaka and are fighting to the death.
The injured have been identified as Dipali Rani (48), wife of Shri Dulal Karmakar of Telihata Karmakarpara village, Bina Rani (21), daughet-in- law of Shri Dulal Karmakar and Shri Surya Karmakar, 3-month-old son of Bina Rani.
It is learned that the family slept in the bedroom on the night of the incident after eating and drinking as usual. But the miscreants smashed some parts of the wooden windows of their bedroom, threw acid and fled.
The people rushed at their house hearing their shout to rescue them and took them to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
When the condition of the injured became more serious, they were sent to Sheikh Hasina Burn Hospital in Dhaka for better treatment.
Talking to Bina Rani’s husband Sagar Roy about the incident, he said that the three persons were burnt by the miscreants throwing acid on them.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gabtoly police station Sirajul Islam said, “Several teams of police have been on the ground since we came to know about the incident.” “They have not yet filed a case as they are busy with patients in Dhaka.” OC added.
