The mango market has gathered in Rajshahi’s Mohanpur. On the occasion of mango season, every day there is a bustling mango market in Kamarpara adjacent to Naogaon highway. Mangoes are bought and sold in this market from morning to evening. Due to demand and good communication system, the delicious and fresh mangoes of Rajshahi and Naogaon regions are reaching the country.
It can be seen on the surface, about 33 km north of Naogaon highway from Rajshahi, at Kamarpara market of Raighati union of Mohanpur upazila, at the last border of the district, delicious mangoes of different varieties are being bought and sold in rows.
Mango farmers collected delicious mangoes from various varieties of mango trees and brought them to this market to sell them. Mango traders from different districts flocked to buy fresh mangoes from the tree.
The pure mangoes of this market reach different districts of the country by traders’ trucks and couriers after being bought at a reasonable price in an open environment.
Mango farmers and marketers said that due to the favorable weather this time, the mangoes have become beautiful in color and the amount of sweetness has also increased due to the extra heat.
As there are courier services of numerous companies in this market and good communication system, mangoes are imported from various places including Mohanpur, Bagmara, Manda, Neyamatpur upazilas.
Depending on the size of the mango, Langra mango from 2200 to 2400 taka, Khirsa mango from 1600 to 2000 taka, Gopal from 1200 to 1400 taka.
Many mangoes are exported from Kamarpara market to Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Bogra, Sirajganj in the evening after shopping.
In this regard, Raighati UP chairman Bablu Hossain said, because the Kamarpara mango market is open all day and 7 days a week, mango farmers can come and sell mangoes as they wish.
