A madrasa student was stabbed to death by miscreants under Gabtali upazila in Bogura.

The deceased is identified as Nazim Uddin (18) Alim examinee son of Farid Uddin of Tarafsartaj village of the upazila. The incident took place at 7 pm on Wednesday (February 23).

According to the locals, some teenagers from Tarpameru village of the same upazila had a dispute with Nazim a few days ago. Due to this, Nazim was found alone in the market on Wednesday evening and was beaten and stabbed. At that time, the teenagers fled at the shout of Nazim.

Later, the locals rescued Nazim and took him to Shaheed Zia Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. The doctor also said that he died due to excessive bleeding after being stabbed in the abdomen.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gabtali Model Police Station Sirajul Islam said police rushed to the spot. An operation is underway to arrest the miscreants.
