One house wife was killed by lightning at Belgacha union under KurigramSadarupazila at 10 am on Sunday (July 31).

The deceased was identified as Minara Begum 45 wife of day labourerDabir Uddin of village PchchimKallayan of the union.

Local sources said Minara Begum went out from her house in search of work. While it was raining she took shelter under a eucalyptus tree where thunder bolt struck her. She was killed on the spot.

She was the mother of three sons and a daughter. Local UP chairman Liton Miah ensured the incident. A pathetic shock was prevailing in the area following the incident
