Abdullah Mahmud of the Department of Social Welfare and Saifullah Al Hadi of the Department of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies both from the 2018-19 academic session, have been elected as president and general secretary respectively of Barishal Division Students Association at Islamic University (IU).
The association’s advisors announced the 11-members committee for the next year on Sunday. This committee aims to foster unity and representation for Barishal students at the university.
The other office bearers of the committee are Senior Vice President Md. Imran, Vice President Md. Omar Faruk, Joint General Secretaries Touhidul Islam and Nisma Islam Muna, Organizing Secretary Abdullah Al Noman, Office Secretary Abdullah Al Rahat, Finance Secretary Omar Faruk, Publicity Secretary Sadia Sayma, and Executive Member Rezaul Islam Rakib.
Abdullah Mahmud, the newly elected President, expressed his commitment to reinvigorating the association, which has been less active in recent years. “Our new committee is focused on making the organization dynamic. We are planning to organize an orientation and farewell program for first-year and last-year students soon. My goal is to strengthen connections among students from Barishal Division and to promote the rich heritage of our region to the broader IU community,” he stated.
