The Innovation Showcase program was held at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) in Dinajpur. The program was inaugurated on Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at the Dr. Muhammad Qudrat-e-Khuda Building on the university campus.
The honorable Vice-Chancellor of HSTU, Professor Dr. M. Kamruzzaman, presided over the event. Dr. S. M. Harun-Ur-Rashid, Director of the Innovation Team, and Dr. Md. Azizul Haque, Secretary and Focal Point of the team, welcomed the guests and participants.
During the event, teachers, staff, and students showcased their innovative ideas and technologies at various stalls. The event was attended by members of the faculty committee, teachers’ organization, other faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.
In his speech, the honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. M. Kamruzzaman, emphasized the importance of creating a smart society and economy by fostering innovative ideas, aligning with the vision of building a developed and prosperous ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041, as envisioned by the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He highlighted the significance of smart governance for achieving this goal and praised the Innovation showcase program as a step towards that direction.
At the end of the speeches, the honorable Vice-Chancellor visited various stalls. Later in the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., the award distribution and closing ceremony took place at the same venue. The first prize was awarded to the Medical Center, the second prize to the Transportation and Machinery Repair Branch, and the third prize to the Journal of Science and Technology.
