An Inception workshop on Mamota project was held at the hall room of SaghataupazilaParishad in the district on Monday noon.

Saghata UNO Sarder Mostafa Shaheen presided over the workshop.

Deputy director of Department of Family Planning Saiful Islam addressed the workshop as the chief guest and upazila chairman ZahangirKabir and upazila family planning officer Dr. Rafiqul Islam spoke at the function as the special guests while upazila project coordinator Shah Md. Harun-or- Rashid was the moderator and said the project would be implemented in the upazila by a local reputed non-government organization SKS Foundation with the financial support of Koica, South Korea in technical support of Save the Children.

The objective of the project is to promote the maternal and newborn health side by side with reducing maternal and children death.

The guests in their speeches underscored the need for promoting the health condition of all mothers and children of the upazila to build a healthy nation. They also thanked the donor organization-Koica for bringing the disaster prone Saghataupazila under the project.

UNO Sarder Mostafa Shaheen in his speeches assured all the concerned to provide his administrative help and assistance to make the project in the upazila a grand success.

Upazila level officials, union parishad chairmen, local elite and the employees of the project including journalists attended the function.
