A protest rally was held in the town here today demanding the improvement of healthcare services of Gaibandha Sadar/Modern Hospital and the stop of corruption and irregularities of the hospital.

Nagarik Mancha Gaibandha, a social platform comprising with the leaders of various professional groups, organized the rally in front of GANASUS of the town here   this noon.

Presided over by Adv. Sirajul Islam Babu, the function was also addressed among others by Noor Mohammad Babu, Shahidul Islam, Anjali Rani Devi, MrinalKanti Burman, Ed. Md. Ali Pramanik, Khilnarabi Das, UmmeNilufarTinni and Qazi Abdul Khalek while Adv. FaruqueKabir moderated the function.

The speakers in their speeches said the hospital had been facing various problems for long.

The hospital is plagued with many problems, including shortage of doctors, nurses, equipment, various types of irregularities, corruption and mismanagement, they also said.

In this context, they demanded of the authority concerned to look into the matter seriously and take necessary measures to solve the problems immediately aimed to ensuring the healthcare services for the patients of the hospital.

They also sought the intervention of the DC to overcome of the problems.
