A housewife named Halima Khatun (25), mother of one child, committed suicide by hanging herself in Sariakandi, Bogra due to a family quarrel.

Police on Monday afternoon recovered the body from Halima’s rented house in Bara [Ipara village] in the municipal area with a ceiling fan wrapped around her neck. Wife of Ershad Ali, an army member of Charbarurbari village in Hatsherpur union of Halima upazila.

It is learned that Halima’s husband Ershad Ali is currently in Kuwait on a UN peacekeeping mission. Halima lived with her child in a rented house in Baripara village. Sariakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mizanur Rahman said it was initially believed that he had committed suicide due to a family quarrel.
