On the occasion of 50 years of great victory, tributes have been paid to the martyrs of the liberation war at the central Shaheed Minar under Sherpur upazila of Bogrua district.
The day begins on Thursday (December 16) with 50 rounds of artillery fire at sunrise. Later, people of different professions including upazila administration and police paid their respects there.
The national flag hoisting and physical exercise for children and teenagers will be held at the DJ High School playground at 8.30 am.
Besides, various programs have been taken up throughout the day including the swearing in ceremony of Honourable Prime Minister in the afternoon.Various institutions have also been illuminated.
