On the occasion of the day, on Sunday (March 26), various political and social organizations along with the upazila administration organized various programs throughout the day.

The day begins auspiciously with 31 gunshots at sunrise. After that, upazila administration, police administration, upazila Awami League, municipal Awami League and various political, social and cultural organizations laid wreaths in Upazila Parishad Central Shaheed Minar.

Upazila Executive Officer Sanjida Sultana officially hoisted the flag at Sherpur Government DJ High School playground at eight in the morning.

At that time, Upazila Parishad Panel Chairman Alhaj Shah Jamal Siraji and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur police station  Ataur Rahman Khandkar were present on the flag stage. After that, a procession of students of various educational institutions including police Ansar has been held.

Local MP freedom fighter Alhaj¦ Habibur Rahman was the chief guest on the occasion.

On the other hand, the Upazila Awami League and the Municipal Awami League hoisted the national and organizational flags in front of the party office and placed wreaths on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman kept in the party office.

At the end of the upazila Awami League president. The discussion meeting has been  held under the chairmanship of Adv.Golam Farooq and general secretary Sultan Mahmud. Vice President of Upazila Awami League Alhaj Shah Jamal Sirazi, Alhaj Munsi Saiful Bari Dablu, Principal Hafizul Islam, Heroic Freedom Fighter Alhaj Maqbul Hossain, Municipal Awami League President Alhaj Sarwar Rahman Mintu and others spoke in the meeting. At the end, a special prayer has been prayed for the souls of all the martyrs of the liberation war including Bangabandhu.
