At least five people were killed from a head-on collision of Bus-CNG-autorickshaw at Shujabad area on Second bypass area under Shajahanpur upazila in Bogura on Thursday noon.
Khandakar Abdul Jalil, Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense of Bogura confirmed the news of the pathetic accident later.
The deceased were identified as CNG-autorickshaw driver Hazrat Ali, 35, son of Abdul Gani of Shakidarpara under Gabtoli upazila in Bogura, Cloth trader Golam Rabbani Badsha, 60, from Bererbari of Sarderpara under Dhunat upazila, Shahana Aktar, 30, of Karaihata under Gabtoli upazila and her 10 monthed minor baby and the identity of another deceased could be traced out.
Khandakar Abdul Jalil said that a Dhaka-bound bus from Gaibandha district and a CNG-autorickshaw collied head-on in the location and killed 4 in the spot and a 10-mont minor died under treatment in the hospital later. Among the deceased, four were passengers of the CNG-autorickshaw and another was its driver.
Locals said that the CNG-autorickshaw was collided by a bus from opposite direction while the CNG-autorickshaw was trying to turn in its right side and later agitated locals fired on the bus and later the personnel of fire service controlled the blaze.
Contacted, Abdul Quader Zilani, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shajahanpur police station said that police have visited the place of occurrence (PO) of the accident and after investigation, the lawful action will be taken against the responsible persons.
