Fire burnt two houses and three domestic animals at Gorosthanpara near Kurigram municipality office in Kurigram district at noon on Monday (April 10).

Locals and KurigramFire Service and Civil Defense sources said the fire was originated from an electric short circuit in the house of one Babu Miah and two houses,valuables households’ articles including three cows burnt to death and two others were partially burnt. Being informed Fire Fighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

The loss was estimated at Tk five lacs. Station Officer of Kurigram Fire Service and Civil DefenseShariful Islam told that the fire was originated from electric short circuitin the cow shed.
