Elderly father-in-law mervelessly died after being hit by son-in-law’s stick of Mohipur village of Garidah union under Sherpur upazila of Bogura district.

His name is Abdus Sattar (85).He died on Monday (February 27) afternoon at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC&H)Hospital.

The deceased Satter is the son of the late Kazem uddin of Mohipur Colony village of the same upazila.

Meanwhile, the police arrested the killer’s son-in-law Soleman Ali (60) in a raid immediately after the unexpected incident. He is the son of late Hossain Pramanik of the same village.

According to the police & relatives of the deceased said that recently there was a dispute between the son-in-law and the father-in-law over the land.For this reason, he was going home from the mosque after the Zohar prayer at around 2:30 on Monday. At that time, the son-in-law Soleiman, who was already in disguise , hit the father-in-law Satter’s head with a stick from behind. His fsther in-law was seriously injured.

Later local people came and quickly rescued him and first took him to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex.When the condition became  deteriorated there, he was immediately taken to Shahid Ziaur Medical College &Hospital in Bogura, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Sherpur Police Inspector (OC Investigation) Lal Mia said,  “The  body of the deceased is in Bogura Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. Besides, the killer’s son-in-law Soleiman has been arrested. A case is being processed in this incident.

“The killer son-in-law Solaiman Ali admitted responsibility for the murder but did not give the reason for it. So he needs further interrogation. For this reason, he will be presented in court on Tuesday and remand will be sought against him” he added.
