A father and son were killed in a truck accident at Godagari in Rajshahi. The accident took place at Bijaynagar of the upazila around 10 pm on Saturday. The father died on the spot and the son died at the hospital.
The deceased were identified as Abdus Salam, 60, and his son Ibrahim Hossain, 35, of Gulai village under Deopara union of Godagari upazila.
Officer-in-charge  (OC)  of Godagari Police Station Kamrul Islam confirmed the information. He said the father and son were returning home from Ibrahim’s father-in-law’s house in Nimpara village of the upazila on a motorcycle. On the way a truck crushed them and fled. Salam died on the spot.
The locals rescued his son Ibrahim Hossain in critical condition and admitted him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Ibrahim Hossain died at 3:15 pm while undergoing treatment there.
