Kurigram, the border adjoining area is covered by dense fog and cold wind again. The people especially day laborers are forced to go to their works in spite of dense fog for the last two days.
The buses of distance places as well as auto (Three wheelers) are the worst sufferers. The drivers have to drive with carefully switching head lights up at 10am on Saturday.
Talking to AinulHaque an Auto Rickshaw drover at Kumorpurarea under KurigramSadarupazila told that dense fog and cold wind are blowing over the district for the last two days. The sun was not visible in the whole days on Saturday. All kinds of vehicles are being moved switching their respective head lights in fear of road accident.
The construction workers Azizul 40, Dulu Miah 32 and Jahedul 39 of Pateswari area under Sadarupazila told that we used to go to our work site driving bicycle in the morning several kilometer in the cold wind but today (Saturday) the whole areas and croplands were covered with dense fog. Nothing was seen anything else. We have no ability to work in this cold wind.
The plight of river side poor people know no bound. Although government and non-government organizations distributed blankets among cold hot poor people but those are insufficient.
Officer-in-charge of Rajarhat Observatory weather in the district Tuhin Miah said the lowest temperature was recorded in the morning on Saturday at 14.5 degree Celsius. The temperature may fall and biting cold wind may blow in the beginning on the month of February, he added
