A monthly police-magistracy conference was held in Chapainawabganj at the initiative of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. The meeting was held in the conference room of the court on Saturday (April 12) afternoon.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate A.K.M. Jahangir Alam. In his speech, the president called on everyone to make their utmost efforts to identify the causes of the backlog of cases and find ways to resolve them as a citizen of an independent country in order to ensure justice quickly.

He also said that the delayed trial process is the opposite of injustice. Without justice, crime rates increase. The real criminals should be punished and the innocent people should not be subjected to harassment. If justice is not ensured, chaos arises in the social structure – which in turn damages the basic structure of the state. As
a result, the development of the country is hampered. Looking at developed countries, we see that the overall development of the country has been possible because the judicial systems of those countries have ensured justice to the people quickly and without harassment by working independently.

If we cannot ensure justice at the stage where we are racing on the highway of development with the aim of building a developed Bangladesh, then we will not be able to reach the goal. Therefore, he called upon all those involved in the judiciary to work together and in unison to ensure justice.
