Six people, including the driver, were killed in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck loaded with stones under Sherpur upazila of Bogrua district . Besides 10 more people were injured.
The accident took place at around 5am on Sunday (February 21) in Sherpur Upazila College Road area of the Dhaka-Bogura highway.
Witnesses said a Bogura-bound passenger bus and a Dhaka-bound stone-laden truck collided head-on at around 5am. Fire service personnel recovered 6 dead bodies from the spot.
Bogura Fire Service Station Assistant Director. Abdul Hamid said two units of the fire service conducted a search operation from the spot and rescued 10 more people who were trapped and sent them to the hospital.
Traffic on the highway was closed for about 3 hours due to the accident.
