Local crowd arrested a boy and handed him over to the police in connection with the rape of a school-going girl in Sherpur of Bogura district.
The rape incident took place on Sunday(August 8) evening of Phulbari Kasaipara area of Garidah Union of the upazila.
Later the mother of the girl filed a case at Sherpur police station as the plaintiff. In that case, the seventeen-year-old boy was arrested and sent to Bogura court on August 8, Monday afternoon.
According to the statement, the boy raped the girl on the afternoon of June 8 in Fulbari Kasaipara village of Garidah Union of the upazila as there were no parents at home. Similarly, he went to the girl’s house on Sunday evening on August 7 and tried to rape her.
At that time, people around the girl came and caught the boy.Later, when the information was given to the police station, the police brought the detained boy to the police station.
The girl’s mother said,”We, husband and wife, work in other’s houses and run the family with that income “
“The teenager had raped his daughter by luring her into marriage when they were not at home.” she claimed. “Appropriate justice for this incident.”she also demanded.
The investigating officer of the case, Sherpur police station sub-inspector (SI) Rabiul Islam admitted the truth of the incident and said, “The victim girl was sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC&H) Hospital in Bogura on August 8, Monday afternoon.”
“The accused boy who was caught by locals was arrested in a rape case and sent him to Bogura court” he added.
