Bogura District Ainjibi Somitee election was held at Gohor Ali Bhoban area in Bogura Judge Court area in Bogura on Frtiday.

BNP-backed Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum Mukta and Rafiq parishad begged 13 posts of 13 posts beating other two panels named Islamic Lawyers’ Counsel and Gonotantrik Ainjibi Somitee candidates.

Chief of Election Conducting Committee Advocate Jahurul Haque Jafor declared the result of the BAR election on Friday midnight and mentioned that out of 789 voters of 862 voters cast their votes in electing 13 candidates of the BAR committee.

BNP-backed Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum president candidate Adv. Ataur Rahman Mukta begged 440 votes where his contesting candidate from Islamic Lawyers’ Counsel Adv. Riaz Uddin begged 157 votes.

BNP-backed Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum General Secretary candidate Adv. Rafiqul Islam begged 343 votes whereas his rival candidate from Gonotantrik Ainjibi Somitee Adv. Abdul Latif Poshari Bobi begged 329 votes.

Other elected candidates were Vice-President Adv. Atiqul Mahbub Salam, Vice-President Adv. Shafi Ahmed Mithu, Joint-Secretary Adv. Abdul Motin Mondal and Adv. SM Nuruzzaman Mehbub, Library and Social Welfare Secretary Adv. Zakaria Sarkar Ferdous, Magazine, Sports and Cultural Secretary Adv. S Abdullahil Baki Lipon, Executive Members namely Adv. Ashabud Zaman Ashif, Adv. Neuton Khondakar, Adv. Mintu Kumar Sarkar, Adv. Mostafa Shakil and Adv. Moushumi Aktar.

BAR election committee said that BNP, Jamaat and Jashod-backed 48 candidates fought for 13 posts of Bogura BAR committee and Awami League candidates withdrew their candidatures.
