One bidi laborer of Kurigram Jalil bidi factory was murdered his rival with sharp weapon over sharing of work at 2.30 am on Monday (May 30).

The deceased was identified as Baizid Islam Bappi 23 a student of honours 1^st year of Mazida Adarsha degree college and son of Khadem Ali of village Choudhurypara of Kurigram Old Railway Station area under Kurigram municipality.

The incident took place while his rival Khokon Miah 32 son of Nazir Hossain (dump Nazrul) of village Saodagarpara (Matikata Mor) of the municipality exchanged hot words and bout sharing of work and at one stage of their altercation Khokon hit Bappy with sharp weapon on his neck. Bappy was injured seriously. He was immediately taken to Kurigram General Hospital where he died at 3.30am in the same day in under treatment.

He killer went into hiding after the incident.

Officer-in-charge of Kurigram Sadar police station Khan Mohammad Shahrear said the body will be sent to Kurigram Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Polices are trying to arrest the killer, OC added.
