Bhurungamari and Rajarhatupazila police in Kurigram arrested 17 gamblers with gambling equipment and recovered cash money from their possessionin separate drive early hours on Sunday.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ruhul Amin told that the den of gamblers have been increased in rural as well as grass root levels. We have arrested the gamblers to build up awareness also.

Police said acting on a tip off Rajarhatthana police arrested EnamulHaque 54 and Narayan Chandra Roy 45 of village Badder Bazar under Senai union, Apon Ali 38 of village BanessorNilkontho,Babu Miah 36 of village Kanchipara and Sadesh Chandra Roy 50 of village Chatrajit along with gambling equipment,mobile phones and cash money.

In addition, Bhurungamarithana police arrested Mazibar Rahman 50 of village ChotoKhatamari under JoymonirhatBottola club area,Aminul Islam 35, Ruhul Amin 35, Afjal Hossain 35, Hafizur Rahman 40, Belal Hossain 25, Sagor 35, AlalMeah 30, Nurunnabi 40of village ChotoKhatamariBosuntary,Torukil Islam of village AikumariBhati,Aynal 40 and Alam 40 of village ChotoKhatamari have been arrested in the same night with gambling equipment and cash money.

Later the arrested 17 gamblers have been produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and sent to Jail.
